Nomeus In The Basement, Onstage & In The Street

We don't get things going as often as we once did, but, hopefully, it's just another lull (there have been several!)

These videos are from the beginning of the year and feature Jerry on guitar, Chad on drums and John on bass.
The first one features "in the street" footage of a larger Nomeus ensemble that played a show in Ypsilanti on September 12, 2015 (Jerry, Chad, John, Michael, Dan, Andrew).

Also-  Our friend and frequent band mate, Jack Keefe, made a mini-documentary based around the above mentioned Ypsilanti show - we'll try to get it up here soon!

Thanks for tuning in! (Yeah, right!)

Current Events (Now Dig This!)

Here is a taste of an album currently in the works!
If you don't know who Grant Calvin Weston is, look him up - especially if you are a connoisseur of fine drumming and/or interesting music!

(come on! that's not a sarcastic or pretentious remark, people! I'm serious! I just want to live music and share it with anyone willing to listen and/or participate! -also, I want everyone to be happy, but that's a tall order.. and I'm working on it... It's really not that weird- I know of a lot of people who feel the same way- your mp3 player is full of them!)

Thanks for tuning in!

*Big shout-out to Italics!!!

G. Calvin Weston & John Moore - "Spider Spins A Dentist"

The audio here is from an email improvisation/collaboration between drummer extraordinaire G. Calvin Weston (Ornette Coleman's Prime Time, Lounge Lizards, Marc Ribot, etc...) and John Moore (Nomeus Music, Shrimpanzee, etc.) Part of G. Calvin Weston's 2014 "Dining Room Sessions" The visual is yet another in a long line of no-budget, experimental video from the Kimbockleophonics lab here at OJABOM (improvised visualizations? sure, why not? Most of them are!)

Nomeus Music - The Quartet

"The Quartet" was:

  • Joe Iafrate- guitar
  • James McGee- guitar
  • John Moore- bass
  • Jesse Cardenas- drums
I think this particular edition of Nomeus Music lasted about one day (which is quite an achievement by Nomeus standards), and occurred some time in October 2010. This improvisation is actually the creamy filling of a Nomeus version of "Interstellar Overdrive" by Syd Barrett and the Pink Floyd (1967)*

Bet you didn't know BWV could go that fast, huh?

"Three is a magic number.Yes it is, it's a magic number.Somewhere in the ancient, mystic trinityYou get three as a magic number. The past and the present and the future,Faith and hope and charity,The heart and the brain and the bodyGive you three. That's a magic number." ~ Bob Dorough
